Training
Oahe Kennels offers beginning, intermediate and advanced field trial and gundog training. Our philosophy is to thoroughly teach the dogs a few simple commands and then be insistent, never harsh or cruel. We usually like to begin with a ten to twelve month old dog and have it for three to five months. After the first few weeks the owners are encouraged to join Tom in training and learn to be good dog handlers. We train the beginning and intermediate dogs on pigeons and some wild game as well as liberated quail. Advanced dogs are trained using pigeons and pheasants, chuckars or ducks.
